Description

This course prepares participants for the specific challenges of logistics management in humanitarian contexts: procurement, transport, stock management, and distribution of goods and relief supplies in often complex, urgent, or constrained environments (crisis zones, natural disasters, fragile settings). It combines theoretical input, logistics tools, and practical scenarios specific to the humanitarian sector.

Objectifs pédagogiques

-Understand the principles and challenges of humanitarian logistics -Master procurement and purchasing processes in humanitarian contexts -Effectively manage stock and warehousing -Organize transport and delivery of aid in constrained environments -Plan and coordinate the distribution of goods and relief to populations -Apply humanitarian standards (Sphere standards, humanitarian principles) -Manage security constraints, urgency, and logistical unforeseen events

Introduction to humanitarian logistics: framework and actors (NGOs, UN agencies, donors) Humanitarian principles and sector standards (Sphere standards, code of conduct) Supply chain management in humanitarian contexts Procurement processes and supplier management Stock and warehouse management (inventory, traceability) Transport and delivery in difficult or emergency areas Fleet management and field logistics Distribution of goods and relief to beneficiary populations Managing unforeseen events, security, and logistical risks IT tools and logistics management software Inter-agency coordination and reporting Case study and simulation of a humanitarian logistics operation

Prérequis

BEPC/BAC/BAC+ Organizational skills, adaptability, and an interest in the humanitarian sector are recommended. A good command of French or English is useful depending on the operational context.
