Description
This course is aimed at out-of-school youth or people in career transition, with an interest in mechanics and electrical engineering, seeking a highly sought-after technical trade in the installation and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. EPA offers 3 months of theoretical and practical training covering the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, with a practical internship at one of our partners awarded to the top-performing students, allowing them to refine their skills in real professional conditions before entering the job market.
Objectifs pédagogiques
Understand the physical principles of refrigeration and air conditioning (refrigeration cycle) Read and interpret refrigeration and electrical diagrams Install refrigeration equipment (refrigerators, cold rooms) and air conditioning units (split, multi-split) Perform vacuum pumping, refrigerant charging, and commissioning Diagnose and repair common installation failures Carry out preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment Comply with safety standards and refrigerant handling regulations

Training (3 months) Fundamentals of refrigeration and thermodynamics The refrigeration cycle and its components (compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator) Reading refrigeration and electrical diagrams Tools and equipment used by refrigeration/AC technicians Installing refrigeration equipment (refrigerators, cold rooms, display cases) Installing air conditioning systems (split, multi-split, basic VRV/VRF) Vacuum pumping, refrigerant charging, and commissioning Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting Preventive maintenance and equipment cleaning Safety, refrigerant handling, and environmental regulations Practical internship (partners, reserved for top students) 11. Immersion in a partner company: real field interventions 12. Monitoring and evaluation by a professional supervisor 13. Internship debrief and skills assessment
Prérequis
No prior technical diploma required. An aptitude for manual work, good physical condition, and basic electrical knowledge are recommended.
